Raymond and Marie-Thérèse Jouannet, descendants of a long line of bakers from Nevers moved in Vichy, in Maréchal Lyautey street, in 1959. Richard, interested in bread-making from his early age and fascinated by his father’s know-how, spent several years working with him. In 1992, he took over his family’s business, playing a large part in its success: since then, indeed, Maison Jouannet’s fame and turnover never stopped growing. In 1998 he set up the sixth selling point in the Covered Market of Vichy and the following year he launched its Pain de Meule (registered trademark), an authentique old-fashioned savoured bread, who rapidely became the leading product and the heart of its business. At present, he leads a 22-people team ensuring the supply of the Maison Jouannet’ six shops and devoting a large part of his time to his passion: the development of new original and tasty breads for his customers and new affiliated members.
